The City by the Bay

A great way to end birthday month for the Heit ladies. Thankfully, Julia is the "local" expert and always up for a good shop (when my husband would rather take a nap and have nightmares about all the money I spend at Target, only to be awakened in a cold sweat that I'm actually in a big city, on the loose, with open to buy on the credit cards)Of course we had plenty of food stops (I was still full up until this morning) one of our faves being the Ferry Marketplace... yum....everything a girl's heart could desire under one roof. (yes, the remnants of stellar gelato shown here)

San Francisco Treat

There is no stopping a pregnant woman when fresh chocolate croissants are involved. Yes, by train, taxi, and foot, we hoofed it for several blocks, when most in their right mind were still snug in their beds in San Francisco to the renowned Cafe Tartine for the famous-line-around-the-block croissants. It felt very Seinfeld "Soup Nazi-ish" while we waited in the line wrapped around the block, in front of the storefront with no sign.. but delishousness was our reward.
