I'll take it as a complement
As I've mentioned, both Heit children share my love for TV. I have to laugh when Jadyn says "we have to get that" to every infomercial product that looks like it will change our lives, or her toy closet. I was the same way. Love that crap. So I happened to be walking past a "Hanna Montana" intermission and the commercial for the Betty Crocker Cake Decorating Kit was on. As background, Jadyn's entire 5th birthday party was planned around the fact that I was going to make the baseball cake just like the infomercial for the ball-shaped cake pan.. it was a great baseball fest.. and the past few round cakes have been soccer balls... wonder what next year will be??? anyway, I said, "Oh, J, that looks cool, we should get that!" and she sighed, "Too bad we can't. We're not 18" (she must have heard them say "call in with your credit card if you're 18 or older") ???... love her.

Welcome Baby T!
We ad'Oregon
After offing our Christmas tinder.. the tree was so dead it had lost all of its green.. we packed up and headed to Oregon.. Obvi, from the previous posts. Awesome to see the whole Benz Crew together, as everyone was there for a post-Christmas-Christmas.. of course Santa visited Nana B and Big Poppi's house... I can feel the warmth and taste all of the yumminess from here.

Happy New Year
The first time the kids have seen "real" snowfall. Sunriver, Oregon.

Wow. 2008.
Nothing like a new baby to make us realize how fast it all goes. I mean, we are constantly saying that about Jadyn.. "she's so big"... "remember when..." but the week by week growing and changing makes me really want to try to stop and enjoy everyday a little more. Ironic since there is always less time and more to do, right?
This year, I resolve to (yes, made some resolutions) not let my car run on empty, open the mail when it comes (instead of letting the bills pile up until they are overdue), and just procrastinate less overall... my biggest challenge.

The sweetest Justinism
that I will never correct (and hopefully neither will he)
.... "Sing Campbell a LOVE-A-BYE and he'll relax"... awe.
Hopefully soon I can get some audio of Jadyn's 'open mic night at the coffee shop style' songs she's composing. It's hysterical...suffice to say it's super breathy singing with the words "paar-aah-dysse" and the like.

Jadyn Shreds in the New Year
Okay.. a few disclaimers.
First video ever made by yours truly.
I have no idea what the music is.. kind of catchy, tho? ha! it must come with the movie-making software? I'm definitely going to try to download more for my future film making
Video being shot by dad who is also on a snowboard and lets the camera go flying at one point.
So, take some Dramamine and enjoy! our favorite is her getting on the chair lift by herself.
And no good time goes without Justin on his phone. Case in point: opening scene.
