wait for it....

While waiting patiently for dad to finish his surf sesh, C thinks he's going to catch a big wave (well, he almost did and half sliced my toe off while I tripped over the board trying to save him... then moved his board back out of harm's way.. gaaaw!) I guess it's in their blood.. even on a cool morning with freezing water.

Our own private whale

Campbell and Olivia were the first kids to paint the big giant whale at the Children's Musee the other day.. so awesome to have the place to ourselves on a quiet, almost fall day

Hero day

In honor of 9-Eleven, J's fourth grade chose their personal "heros", wrote a sweet letter to them, and invited them for 'hero' sammies and a luncheon in the classroom. J chose her cousin (18 months her senior) Kaia.

Surf for the Sea

Three Heits competed this year in the annual Surf for the Sea contest. We were most excited about Jbird shredding in her first contest without dad in the water (although both Justin and Jeremy put board shorts on during her heats, just in case they needed to 'jump in').. She did awesome, placing 4th (Dad and Jerm both placed 2nd in their old guy divisions!) whoop whoop for the Heits!

mid day nap... and nice moustache, T.
