Cake, Round II, breakfast, the day after
I love how Jadyn zooms in with the Fruit Loop. We are so high tech here. I love cake for breakfast, so figured it might be genetic?? Notice how C doesn't like to get the frosting anywhere but his pointer fingers while he precisely removes the "fancy Cheerios" from his cake.
Arrrrgh-eady ONE? Campbell parties at the shore
This called for a pirate party! We set up camp at "Secrets".. Jadyn's favorite surf spot.. to celebrate the "last weekend of summer"
we were lucky enough to have our friend Larry take some photos at the beach.. the amazing one above is one of them.. the rest of this post is courtesy of my ghetto sony cyber-shot.
Captain Townsend showed up ready to party in the same shirt!! unplanned! b.f.f.s for ever.

A pit-stop nap happened when Campbell fell asleep after his wardrobe change (Sweet 16-style)... he woke up in time for his cake...

The following photo is a little crazy/junky.. it is the back of my car, post party. Campbell really did look like ET when they hide him in the closet.. so many awesome gifts, leftovers, supplies and like 1oo lb. of sand.

OK, I guess Campbell is over laying down for the "rug picture"... All decked out in his b-day crown.. he couldn't get it and his shoes off to scoot away fast enough. I canNOT belive it's been a year since this little man came into the world. Looking back at that teeny little alien in pictures, it does feel like a lifetime ago in ways.. but it all flew by... isn't that what they all say?
One year stats: I don't know how much he weighs, but it's not that much.. maybe 19 lb? and he has only two teeth as of yet. He doesn't like mushy foods or balloons (we learned on the ride down to the beach with the car full of helium balloons in his face) and loves growling, making ET wheezing noises and ARRGH-ing with Jadyn and dad. He is a speedy crawler and goes for anything with buttons (especially computers and remotes), pots and pans and door stoppers...oh and if his big sister's door is open even a crack, he's in there like lightning. He stands on his own and scales all furniture.. but no real walking... we're trying before "Wedding 08" next month!!! He is still a TV lover... faves being Baby Einstein, Sesame Street, Yo Gabba Gabba and when he has the remote it always ends up on the spanish channel or CNN. (?)
He says "Hi", "All Done", "Day-Dun (Jadyn)", "Mama" ,"Dada",.. and we might be making this all up because it's just sounds that babies say..

Awe, cuz.
Townsend just does not get any cuter.. Rufus the dog is trying hard to be in the photos, too. Campbell can't keep up with Mr. Army scoot/ crawl cruiser. So stinkin cute.
Seasick no more
Another buddy along for the father-son fishing escapade.. obvi, they ran into a LOT of albacore.. we've been having fish 100 ways here... tuna burgers, tuna steaks, tuna gumbo..This marks the first trip on which Justin hasn't gotten seasick. I mean, he doesn't even like the Small World ride at Disneyland. j/k.. but seriously... previous boats have had to turn around or send him swimming back to shore.

Surf Camp
Jadyn says surf camp was "the most fun in my whole 'tire life"... quotable quotes include the first day, getting into her wetsuit.. the girls were getting a (very) little on-land instruction and she says to me, "This is so awesome. I'm going to learn the REAL way to surf, not the DAD way."
